This is the clearest analysis of the historical background behind EGW's statement that the "daily" was "not a subject of vital importance". 1SM164 (If the "daily" in Daniel actually IS of vital importance, then why did she say that? Daniel 12:4 says, "But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased."

According to the above Bible prophecy the "time of the end" is here, and the prophetic books of Daniel and the "Apocalypse", or the book of Revelation, are being unsealed, and knowledge of the prophecies is increasing. Therefore, as I and others "run to and fro" in the prophetic books, and knowledge of the prophecies increases I will be updating and adding what I consider is relevant and helpful material, so come back often!

I have been a student of Bible prophecy for 35 years, and though I have a college degree in Theology and Religion, and I have included here a couple articles from men who have Ph.Ds and long experience in Theology, I have learned most of what is posted here from my friend and dedicated lay Bible student, Jeff Pippenger (jeffpippenger@msn.com), who has had no formal theological training at all (note 1 Corinthians 1:26-28).

I hope this website will be helpful as you learn how to approach Bible prophecies correctly, so you can discern the truth that God wants His Children to understand, namely, where we are in the stream of time, so that we can cooperate with Him, rather than waste time and effort groping around in the dark, wondering about the meaning of what's going on around us in this dying old world.

A couple of basic ideas first:

The Bible is its own dictionary, defining its terms within itself.

The Bible is a record of history, and prophecy is but history in advance, therefore one must compare the Bible with history. To do so is to be a "historicist."

Those who maintain that Bible prophecy is about events either entirely in the distant past (preterists) or far-off future (futurists) are wandering in darkness already, as the first article I posted explains.
